Today at the Slovenian Startup Forum, the Europe Startup Nations Alliance (ESNA) launched the “Best Practice Catalogue”, a compilation of more than 130 best practices from around the world that positively support the startup ecosystem. The "Best Practice Catalogue" outlines initiatives in over 38 countries to promote the growth of startups.

Bled, 28 January 2025 – ESNA today launches the "Best Practices Catalogue", a first-of-its-kind digital guide on how countries have successfully supported the growth of startups in the context of economic competitiveness.

The catalogue was officially presented by ESNA's Executive Director, Arthur Jordão, during the Slovenian Startup Forum 2025, where he welcomed João Rui Ferreira, Secretary of State for Economy, Portugal and Matevž Frangež, State Secretary, Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sports, Slovenia to join him in a conversation on achieving the ambitious goals of the Startup Strategy.

"Europe is home to a diverse range of startup ecosystems, each with its own unique challenges and strengths," says Arthur Jordão, Executive Director of ESNA. "This catalogue will serve as a tool for governments and stakeholders, offering practical solutions already implemented in other countries to improve the startup environment. From tax incentives and funding schemes to talent retention and innovation hubs, we believe these shared experiences will enable other countries to replicate and build on these successes."
